Viability of polar travel?

Gentlemen. How viable would crossing the Artic and Antartic poles be? It'd be interesting because you'd get from Russia to Canada and from South America to Southeast Oceania much faster.

It has been suggested. Ivan said that the map doesn't really work that way and i think they worked a long time to get it to the point where you could cross the pacific.

Damn* It took a long time to be able to cross the pacific? I know it takes almost forever to cross it in world games so america goes for europe and africa instead.
