It doesn't. I was listening to Neil Kramer talk about this, and what he said made sense... in 50 years the news hasn't changed. News story one - terrorism or war, followed by story 2, some health care crisis, with the finale being a tiger cub being nursed by an alpaca (or some other feel good close). The IRA were the 'Fear Porn' then, along with STDs and lung cancer killing millions as the healthcare crisis.

Nothing changes... fear porn won't end until the masses stop watching the news and decide for themselves what is more important than fear/doom porn.

If this is how they want to "exterminate" people then they're doing a pretty shit job at it.
