What have we done

So I have been gone from atwar for a quite long time, and I came back just to see hwo things are going, and I have been very disappointed. There are several huge problems with atwar that I believe are ruining it.

The community

The atwar community has never been perfect, but I feel like there is too much hate going around about meaningless crap. A lot of people also complain about the mods not being perfect, but from a different standpoint, imagine having to deal with all the community. It cant possibly be easy.
People are taking things way too seriously, nobody ever stops and laughs about how fun of a game atwar is, its all about being serious about the game.
Personally, I think the biggest problem is the people who think they are powerful. Usually, they are affiliated with a whole coalition who think they are better simply because of
A. SP
B. they made some decent map
C. They feel like they are just better for noreason at all
These players think they matter for some reason, and feel powerful for not really doing anything. Pff maybe their biggest accomplishment is wasting enough time on atwar to get that far. It is a real problem facing the community and game, and if not stopped, I feel it harms atwar.
People need to stop beig so serious, realize it is a game and they are not the most important people in the world, just attention hogs. The forum and game are overall full of tons of hate, and it makes me want to not even come back to atwar.

oh and im ready for the mass comments saying either
A. This is because of roleplay
B. Really? I dont think the community has been better
C. Mods lock this topic its spam
oh and
D. You are just one of the attention hogs you yourself spoke of.

Nah... hate? Where? I haven't seen it anywhere around just ignore it and use your best sense of humor to deal with them

Yep, Atwar have very bad community, generally speaking. Full of trolls. There are good players and characters, but there should be more. Way more.

And thats affecting us all: mapmakers, players, potential new players, potential premium buyers.

For example, i made WW2 map which was trashtalked by few other mapmakers because they dont want competition(they want only their map to be played). Its really bad feeling when you work on something for 6 months, checking every detail, searching for perfect images and read bunch of documents to create realistic events and people and then someone knock you out with few words.

Thats why i put my other maps on hold, they are about 50% done and i dont see reason to continue so i can finish them, spend my time and effort so they can be mocked.

How many other mapmakers are discouraged from working? How many players are discouraged from buying premium because they dont want to risk to spend 40$ and be harassed while they can spend 40$ on other more peaceful gaming community?

I seriously think that the only way to solve our problems is by communicating among ourselves...

Though, pointing a side as "good" and other side as "bad" doesn't really helps.

For what to me and my threads respects, I don't think the moderator team is bad, just that it can be better (not in my definition of "better", as someone would comment. But in overall, because the upvotes and support that my threads got proves that I am not alone).

The problem comes when, as you've said, one side feel stronger than other and despreciate their thoughs... How to fix this? How can we make all colours to work in harmony? Is the solution that you should'be looking for. Maybe making ourselves notice, submiting our opinions.....

... Concusion which yet makes me return to my initial paragraph. Something must be wrong as none of the threads I've made actually motivates mods to change. Maybe I try another approach in the future... VoC sounds like the best option, but as I said in that thread, in AtWar we have a bunch of trolls....

Maybe trying VoC and surveys again, but with well-though questions that motivates the user to be honest.... Might work.

Just give up on that, people won't change their way just cause you write some nice sentences... try to have some sense of humor and get over it in the smartest way possible
