Country picking for CW's

Hi all, as some may have realized ever so often I like to share some observations and engage the community on the particular issue. I have been watching cw's for a little while now and I have realized that there is sometimes confusion regarding country picks.It seems that over time certain codes have developed where some players think that certain combinations of countries are unfair,in that they give some advantage to the team that posseses them.

It is here that I would like to share my opinion on this particular subject. First of all I want to separate regular 3v3 and CW's. I find it perfectly understandable that in a regular game players would request certain combos or lack thereof and see no problem with that after all it is a regular game and for the most part I believe we all just seek to have fun. In CW's however, which I have have been led to believe represents the pinnacle of competitive activity on atwar this is a different matter. Every coalition competes to win and strives to find the best combination of countries which suit their players and simultaneously weaken the opponent in some way. The picking alternates between the two teams. This leads to my big question and my opinion on the matter: Why would someone not take a country and then complain if the opponent takes it ?! As long as the picking alternates between the two teams each side has the opportunity to stop the opposing team from getting one country or another. From my experience it seem as though players still prefer to pick a country that suits themselves or their team and expect that the opponent should not take another country because " OP combo" . I find this quite silly if indeed CW's do represent the pinnacle of competitive activity . If a team does not wish the opponent to acquire a certain country it is my opinion that they should take it themselves.If not them no blame should be attributed to the team that desires that country .After all no one forced you to take the country you did, you rejected one country for whatever reason and the opponent took it ! Fair game, isn't it a competition !?

I agree with what you have to say for the most part which is why I wasn't happy after bullet disconnected from the CW yesterday simply because the other team had a Turkey/Ukraine combo. Everyone has the option to pick any country available. So don't complain when the other team picks a country you chose not to.

The most known "combos" or op picks are UK-germ and trk-ukr. If a player does not pick the country his team "has" to have, it probably is because that player is "better" at another country or would like to use another country.
Basically, the player does not want that country but wants his team to have it.

Yeah right totaly ...NOT!

- Your team mate picks turkey
- I pick UK because want to prevent you from having UK-turkey combo, which is powerful shit with all the reinf
- You pick Ukraine
- My team mate picks germany - now its like we have a powerful combo but we dont since Ukraine can run over germany
- last two picks are not even important

First clan that has picking would always have an advantage ...please dont bullshit people, your making me mad.

thats true, but wouldn't that mean that 3v3s are always imbalanced? we need a more balanced competitive map, i'd suggest the Hexagon, it's perfectly balanced ...
no for real, why not just use the world map and go with 5 players per clan?

Not all of us have time to play for a few hours and more importantly clans providing 5 members on each side would be a bitch to set up.

but you could try maps like america, what about that?

Imo, any combo is permitted except if your two first picks were UK-Germ or Ukr-Turk. Having said that, France+Spain is underrated.

Yesterday in CW, I picked UK team 2 picked Turkey, our 2nd Picked Germany their 2nd picked Ukraine, and rightfully so. It was amusing when their 2nd pick said 'are you sure' as if to need acceptance to select what they wish for. Most clans would just abandon at this point, BTW there is no OP combo imo, granted it is very very powerful (Ukr/Turk) but It can, has and will be beaten.

I remember when SM failed their picks in a cw once and my clan had UK/germany combo.I left the game so we could start a new one.Its not fun for me to win when i have the advantage.I like to win hard and good games,otherwise whats the fucking point.

Picking codes of conduct should just be decided by the team's leaders prior to the start of the game. /end thread

I mean, I am against the one who picked Germany. I thought you weren't, since your own clan picked Germany and you said "BTW there is no op combo".

UK Germany is beatable, and not everything has to be downright fair you know.

It's possible to play cws in world map in casual mode, to challenge is to get a lot of players at the same time to start the game.

Time to comment on the thread I began lol. I just thought ppl moan about silly things especially the way CW's are talked up- it is a competition! Ppl should seek the best countries they can.. end of.. Like aqui and others have said though.. ultimately each clan's leaders have to agree to the terms they want.. My own personal opinion is that this should not even be a discussion; ppl should pick the best they can,you dont want me to have it, then you take it ! You can't not want to take it and expect me to not take .. My humble opinion.

Adding to the other comments, yes CW's other than eu+ are possible it is just up to players to start becoming more adventerous and b willing to try new stuff. Of course trying new stuff does come with new challenges and no one is forced to.. such is life.
