Ah, the good old 'on every dollar men earn, women earn 70 cents' proverb. Just feminazis forgot that we live in CAPITALISM and FREE MARKET which means employers will employ workers working longer hours for LESS than others. It's called JOB MARKET. If 'proverb' is true, then ALL workers would be women because they work for LESS than men. Which is not the case because why would anyone sane pay workers more if there is cheaper labor waiting in the job market. About the end of the video, women asking for wage raise... no comment, i'll just go google how much suicide bomb-vest cost & next feminist gathering.

Employers cant hire all women because obviously 50% of the population are men. Using the free market logic, women would pick better paying job by default so trying to underpay women means nobody would work for you.

Come on Columna gender pay gap is so 2015..its been debunked so much that even all the mainstream liberal media outlets made articles about it being a myth. Dont be fooled.. --Excerpt taken from fee.org about the "women earn 80% of what men earn" : "the 80% number means that when men and women with the exact same skills and experience and preferences do the exact same work that women get paid 80 cents for every dollar men do, they are wrong. That is not what the 80% figure shows. Rather, that number is the ratio of female to male wages among full-time workers, across all kinds of jobs and regardless of the skills and preferences of the workers. That 80% is an aggregate - it is not an apples-to-apples comparison of men and women doing the same work. Thus, the claim that women get paid 80% of what men do for the same work is a myth. The clear majority of the gap is explained by skills, experience, and preferences. Correspondingly, the other myth is that the missing 20% represents discrimination by employers. Once we understand where the gap figure comes from, we know right away that this other claim is a myth. To know if there is discrimination, we'd need to make the apples-to-apples comparison. In fact, that is what economic studies of the gap attempt to do. They attempt to hold everything else constant and compare employees who are as similar as possible, and who are in jobs as similar as possible, except that some are male and some are female. If there is a gap left unexplained by skills and experience, then economists treat that presumptively as due to discrimination, pending further studies. The consensus of those studies is that the clear majority of the gap is explained by skills, experience, and preferences. So it is a myth that the missing 20% is all due to discrimination" If you prefer animated videos (and dont bash the source as fascist, Prager is Jew )

Exactly. Thanks. Actually points to other discrimination before reaching the labour market. For instance access to skill-building, education, women being more affected in their career when becoming mothers (in comparison to men becoming fathers), etc.

Sigh... the only 'gap' is between workers because they are shy and offended to talk about their wages. Not between males and females or other silly labels, only between co-workers. In fact, the law encourage them to talk about their wages so they can be better informed. In Germany, the government is literally pushing you into worker's union so you can have more power and thus balance with the companies and corporations. In Michael Moore's movie 'Where to invade next', one German company have put workers in their board to comprise 50% and they live in capitalism, not communism. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xH7eGFuSYI

First of all, I'll adress this by points: 1- Free_Warrior, turning this a circle jerk by posting a controversial video of a controversial subject that would trigger every conservative here so that you'd get upvotes is a bit ridiculous, I remember you back in the day being all forth with women's rights and full equality, this is hypocritical of you, stop thread boot-licking. 2- It seems not everyone got the point of the video? The video clearly just focus on the part of women accessories and women clothing and necessities being more expensive than the same ones for men. I'm pretty that's the core of the entire video, the rest is just marketing and shit. 3- Gender inequality on the job market isn't really due to gender? It's kinda based on structural matters, since only from the 70's or 80's in some countries did the women start studying and entering the job market fully, however, they were slightly less skilled and productive as man, hence the difference in pay. However, I've read about some peculiar cases in the past where with the same productivity rate, the same certifications and work hours, women would receive a bit less than the man, even though that's been progressively fixed. My point basically is that there's gender inequality because women are/were generally less skilled as the average man, in western countries at least. I think that's changing though, we're going through a period of globalization where everyone who achieves certain goal can actually get into university and into the job market, and an increasingly skill-based world where men and women outcompete constantly, the gender difference is slowly vanishing, but we can argue that there's still difficulties for women to access political positions and such, in some countries at least (like mine). Back to what I was saying, nowadays what you see in Universities is that some degrees are being genderized. In my country for example, medicine and law are being fully dominated by women, where they can more easily be admitted, compared to a man, and purely due to their average high skill. Same goes for architecture. One the other hand, all sorts of engineer degrees and programmers and degrees in economics and finances and business management are man-dominated. It's all a matter of skill basically that leads to possibly gender differentiations. 4- Even though gender inequality in pay is a myth, they're still different biological, and in my opinion, we should thrive to allow women to be productive and contribute for the country's wellbeing, not only as mothers of future generations and foundation of families, but also as working people, hence why countries should always thrive for a protective social policy, (within their capabilities, not some socialist populist shit) to allow job market to grow and develop itself, and with it, to grow the country.

Not in most countries. And those who graduate, when joining a company receive less salary than men, doing the same job.
Reproductive tasks (not biology, but social... gendered roles!) go at expense of women's economic autonomy. Men usually do not assume their role when birth is given to "off-springs". Why do women have to sacrifice their career and men don't? Why does somebody have to sacrifice a career in first place? But why would you care. You consider reproductive work as an inherently female task - argued on base of biology, sic! - and, actually, you don't even consider it as work. Difficult to argue with somebody with this world-view.

Right, not in most countries where women are treated terribly and like property. The commercial and the gender wage gap myth is purported towards the Western world- a world where women are the most free (along with men) than at any time in the history of mankind. As for some earning less, this is simply false. A study by the Press Association in 2015, using data from the Office of National Statistics, found women in their 20s earn more than men of the same age.
No one is arguing a father is not important in the development of a child. But considering the hormonal imbalance and the great stress that carrying a child and giving birth to one does to a mother physically is one reason why she does not immediately go out to work (or should not). It is also crucial that a baby, in those developing months, is around his or her parents to develop those connections. Taking time off, whether you're male or female, affects how much experience you have. Experience is what counts for pay. Women are not asked to sacrifice their career, they chose to have a baby knowing the repercussions of doing so. And people do not sacrifice their careers every time- this is what maternity and paternity leave is all about.
And I made this statement where exactly? How do we get from "taking off work=less experience=less of a salary boost when you want a raise" too "I am a misogynistic man who thinks women should stay at home and raise children" :node: Birthing a human being is not some simple task. It takes a toll on a woman physically and mentally (ie. postpartum depression). So yes, if a women gives birth then she should take some time off (doctors say at least 4 weeks for normal birth, 6 weeks for a c-section). Taking time off (like months) without maternity leave will affect your experience which will impact your salary. Any woman who wants to have a baby knows these things occur. If a man took off as much time as she did, his wages would also suffer. If businesses could hire women for less for the same job, than women would be dominating the workforce.

Check it for yourself. You "answered" to my argument regarding that women's career are more affected by reproduction than men's, that it is not discrimination but "biology". You basically reduce the reproductive issue to the biology dimension of it. This is reducing the whole gender-issue to the differences of sexes... just one step from, what you call, misogyny. Didn't go that far with my point, just pointed out to the fact that your view on this issue is, IMO, reductionist. Some progressive legislation, as in some European countries, try to counter this double burden on women with maternity AND paternity leave; but the decision of a couple (not a woman) and the expectations of society, to bear children, usually rely on a sacrifice form the mothers' side.

That is correct because she is the one bearing children and when using maternity leave, she take time away from work. Many men do not have paternity leave. Once more we are converging to the point that the gender-wage gap is based around the different life choices of men and women. Women who take time off from work to raise a family will see their experience and skills impacted making them worth less as a worker. The point is that this is not because of a patriarchy, but because of life choices
