I wonder what they're doing there

So do I.

Russia paid Ukraine about 98 million US$/year for Crimean leases.
The two stealth bombers cost about 1600 million US$ - just flyaway costs, not counting on how much the bombers cost to maintain and fly (14 million/year, NOT counting missions where they are armed).
The B2 isn't *invisible* to Russia's top-line air defenses, anyway, any more.

Perhaps Operations Ukraine Shield and Ukraine Storm will be the reverse of Desert Shield/Storm: The logistical, political and military excuse to bring munitions and weapons systems from Afghanistan to Europe, and get the EU and Japan to pay for it.
