Pick order

So what the hell hapened with picking countries order?its been 7 cws in a row i have last pick and all normal games also last pick always.Until this week i used to go 1st or 2nd.something is changed and its NOT random.Somebody give me a fuckin answer please, if this countinues i will certainly stop aw again,nothing fun getting always spain and france.

You could always try picking something else for once...say...like Poland or Italy? Don't always have to play France or Spain.

I like playing NC Cyprus and IF Iceland personally. Maybe he should try one of those

I keep getting first

Pick order is acting odd atm, before it used to favour faster internet, now i dont even know what its doing, it needs to be fixed, a random pick order is important.

Now it is half random half internet speed. Meaning it you load with connection speed first, second, or third and then it decides if its random picks or normal connection-speed-picks. To all of the rich boys with the fast connection, its very fucking boring getting last pick every time, deal with getting last pick every once in a while.

EDIT: Its good how it is now leave it like this.

Yes you do connect as last but sometimes it makes you pick first, did you read mine? :/

Anyway i wasn't opposing you i was saying that its good as it is because it randomizes picks and same people don't get same pick every time ( i always get 3rd D: ) . If you say for you it ALWAYS give you last pick then must be bad luck or some bug.

Isn't it decided by connection speed? Connecting last gives you 3rd place.

It used to be, but a couple days they changed it so it is more random.

It can be unsettling, because you don't know the order the opposing team is picking, so you cannot plan for this, but it is more fair in the ends.

Bump.nothing random nothing fair in this.Now 8 cws (or 9 lost count) in a row last pick lets see how many more

I used to get 3rd pick consistently, now it seems more mixed for me.

You can always counterbalance having last pick by wfing your opponent.

I did it to Meester because he higher rank and had the advantage I think it was fair. I would have won but he kicked me.

Until this new "random" pick system, I always picked first (90% of the games). Now Im always last, except when I play cw with khal, then Im second

If they would have been completely random everytime, then that would have been something. But it's the same thing as before, except the tables are turned: fastest connection gets last pick, and slowest one gets first. In other words, it's not "fairer", it's the same shit wrapped in a different package.

Lol eagle..true.News on this is i continue to get last pick almost everytime,i managed to get middle pick a couple of times so its like 90+% for me.even had 5 youtubes open to slow my cnection and that didnt work.

Mods can you maybe moove this to bugs section so hopefully amok or ivan can take a look at it,its really importand i think.

not in my case I always get last pick in team games since the server update

thanks for the fast reply.Its weird though cause since the upgrade i played lots of game and didnt have 1st or 2nd pick not even once.i had 3rd or 4th pick 2 times if i remember correctly.i must be really unlucky lol cause the probabilities dont add up..

Not necessarily. Youtube doesn't slow connection as much as you think. A proxy does. I turned on proxy, which gives me an IP from UK and considerably slows down my connection. Even so, I still got second pick lol. (still better than 3rd tho)

proxy lol..if i try to get through a proxy i doubt i will be able to connect at all..i mean even with the 5 youtubes playing it took me 25 seconds to connect to cw instead of the usual 10..but im gonna keep experimenting though..

I'm not sure if i'm correct. I always thought it was the one with the better connectionspeed that got first pick. A while ago i played a few 1v1 matches against a friend of mine, and i always got first pick. But when i started to download something at full-speed; and started the match at that point; he got the first pick.
Maybe thats because one of us joined the game after the 'randomness element' starts to work?

Here's the way it works now:
1. Players join the newly created game in the lobby
2. Game is launched
3. A timer kicks in waiting for all the original players to load & connect (60 sec timeout)
4. If some of the original players have not managed to connect in time (60 sec), they are then not automatically joined and need to press the 'Join' button, which adds them to the end of the queue.
5. After all the original players connected or when the timer (see p.3) runs out, all the currently connected players are then shuffled and the picking begins in the randomized order.

60 sec looks to long. if i close a game in the timeout (..3...2...1..), the other players have to wait 60 seconds

There is no random picking order. It's a myth. The picks are set in stone. Fastest connection (which used to get first pick) now gets the last pick ALL OF THE TIME. In case anyone else is wondering.
