Sometimes neutral countries will get extra units at week 0, I have no idea why this happens and it always annoys me, especially when it puts an extra inf or something. Is there any way to remove this or any reason why this happens sometimes but not all the time? I can understand after week 0, but at the start it's just annoying for expansion. The biggest reason this is annoying is because this happens randomly and it also can completely mess up a CW or duel.

Scenario - fruit takes mos uk and idake is in spain. idake believes he can beat fruit by 100%ing italy and not bothering with france, fruit knows this so it goes for germany, and walls france, only to find 1 more inf in germany, he then ragequits.

I agree, I look at neutral city counts and use that to help base my country pick off of. It's really annoying when shit spawns and you plan on it being a certain number for week 0.

Lol, i don't really agree.. So on turn two, random units spawning in neutral cities doesn't matter? It only matters on the first turn?
I love those randomly spawning units, because it makes the games different. Of cause this is one of the random things that can "mess up a CW or duel" but that's only because people have learned exactly what cities to take the first turn - which they imo shouldn't be able to. (:

I agree.. not with the CW part though - cause i would still say if we remove the random unit spawning in week 0, we also have to do it for the rest of the weeks, right? to be "fair for competition"? and then why not make it so that you after every attack know exactly how many units you will have afterwards? that would clearly be the most fair, since it would be the least random! and maybe it's just me, but i think that would be pretty boring..

I say actually that it should be kept, but it shows at country select start, that could make certain countries more playable and other areas and change the whole start of the game, bringing a lot more variety and skill into play.

Only for CWs and duels, it adds randomness and unpredictability to games instead of mindlessly following a set of moves, this makes you have to adapt to the game and such.
No. As PD, 5 inf usually beat 4 militia. If I know there's a chance a country with 4 militia might get a boost of units, I'll send 6 inf so I know I'll never lose. So now my standard move will be sending 6 inf instead of 5. There will never be a boost big enough to make me not get the country.
The boost is just annoying.
