The thread title may be hugely controversial, and could seem racist, edgy or antissemitic just a few months or even years ago. Yet, none of that matters because International widespread criticism to Israel's recent-years conduct has been confirmed. Israel, as some in this game have said (Roai, that's you, if you're wonderin) wasn't a jewish state, but a state open to all ethnicities and minorities, proud of despite the criticism and antissemitism by the arabs, to harbour a sizeable minority of arabs.
It seems all that bullshit talk and arguments of an inclusive Israel (debuffed for years now) cannot possibly continue.
Israel, this week, has passed a discriminatory Law that declares Israel a Nation-State for the Jewish people, ulteriorily encouraging the settlements (illegal under International Law) and establishing fundamental-rights as an unmovable pinnacle guaranteed by the State of Israel, solely to its jews.
The State of Israel, being a modern state, grants Israeli nationality to its population, whether a jewish or a palestinian citizen of theirs. A nationality is defined as being the bond that each and every one of us have to the respective state. A German Nation is a person who has a juridical bond to the German State, that guarantees them rights (and duties), being this extendable to the rest of the countries. By Israel granting a primary role for the "Jewish People", it's effectively classifying its jewish nationals as 1st-class and other israel nations as 2nd class, if they aren't jewish.
We could say that this Law doesn't change anything because Israel has always classified itself as a nation of the jewish people, as some staunch defenders have claimed around these forums aswell. That is correct. Israel has always defined itself as a Jewish Nation-State ever since its creation was consented by the Great Powers and the UN. However, with this law, we go from a de facto claim of a status to a de jure status of definition. This Law is not an ordinary law, that intends to guide the Israeli State to pursue and defend the Jewish Nationals. It's a reforced-law, which means it's tank'ed from being supressed from infra-hierarchical ordinary laws, because this law assumes the status of Quasi-constitutional or Constitutional Law, who can only be repealed and edited by laws of the same formal category. Basically, by approving a reforced-law making the integrity of jews a constitucional value, it's tank'ing the law from being swiftly repealed and endorsing it to a Constitutional Identity that defines the State of Israel.
Basically, this law Constitutionalizes Segregation, by protecting Jewish Nationals by constitution, while demeaning other nationals, it's apartheid all over again, but with the tacit consent of the US and EU.
Where's the Principle of Equality that has guided modern nation-states in their conducts and protected its nationals from arbitrary policies? Where are the so-called enlightened values that seemed to have vanished from a self-proclaimed developed nation?
History repeats itself, and the victim of the past has become the criminal of the present.
Disclaimer: I am not wanting to start a debate of hate on Israel as a country per se. This is not an antissemitic thread at any capacity, but simply aimed at being a point of reflection for something happening in the world that somehow affects us "global community" as a whole. Besides that, knowledge doesn't take space and it's always good for some needed reflection, even if sometimes (as I've been led to believe), on this game, this is impossible, with the amount of politicized radicals and grunts who roam around this forum, from both sides of the palisade.
If this thread is perceived as a fueler of hate, I am sorry, but that's not my attention, but simply to cast some "reflective-debate" on this issue, hoping to avoid it from derailing due to emotions and radical convictions, that I do not adopt by the milimeter on this. Should it be deemed as derailing or explosive, pm me (or mods too) or just overall lock it or delete it.

honestly Israel is everything to them they even get water and electricity for their cities from Israel they want to work in Israel they want to shop in Israel but they want to kill every Israeli they can and throw them in the sea and take back whats "theirs" kinda paradoxical if you ask me they cant live without Israel since they did nothing in the same 70 years as Israel became a first world nation but on the other side they want to kill Israel. if you ask me they are so green with jealousy they have no idea what they want but its defiantly not peace.

Britons arrive New Zealand because they had nothing to bring to the table in their homeland. That whole thought is misconceived and that is why the Israeli Conflict does not get solved. There's no Israel Supporter side and Israel Opponent Side: There's always the truth or the enunciation of facts that may pressupose it...If anyone's biased, that'd be you for not recognizing the liability of a Constitutional Law that sets a precedence around the Jewish stricto-sensu as a pillar of the nation, and thus a priority..

It takes great sagacity to talk that way after the way you behaved. You already admitted you know nothing about this region history and now you prove you know nothing about how things work here. But let's look at it at the micro details. can you bring me one section in the law and describe a future scenario where it can cause a discrimination. I will direct you here. In the Israeli law basic law: Human Dignity and Liberty are at super legal status which means these can not be canceled by any authority. so if 9 superme law would still favour populist law that says nothing only because it talks about Israel as a Jewish State. how are they going to surpass it?

And just to be clear - If it's not obvious yet. I do not support this law. I think it's disgrace they managed to pass it but in contrary to their predicitions they did not gain support over it but just lost the trust of their own voters base. Additionally. the current Knesset does not reflect the Israeli public. it got speciall shape over one elections because of choice of past low classes to support the Likud due attempt of the media to enforce past - corrupted party aka the Labour Party (because it kept them poor while enriching the rich parts of Israel). All we see now is an attempt of falling party to stay in power by extending his voters via cooperating the most extreme and despiteful members of his parlamint. but Nethanyahu is not dumb enough or naive. He did not give them a chance to tear Israel apart.

If we follow this logic, then jews got killed by nazis so they left and relocated to palestine and found peace and happiness. So what if those palestinians leave their own home and relocate to your country and do to you the same things israel did to them? Would that be fair? It wouldnt. Following your logic, your people would have to go and oppress some other nation and it keeps going on an opression circle. You know very well why partisans fought. After capturing Judea and Samaria from Jordan in war they started Israel gave the Palestinians plenty of opportunity to found their own country. they rejected them all and they stil provoke their people to attack Israeli soldiers and citizens day by day and then complain for Israel attempts do defend itself. You can't eat the cake and keep it whole.

It doesn't matter if everybody disagrees with the Law and the Law is bad. If it favours one sector, it paves the way for ulterior discrimination on the rest. Now if you tell me Human Dignity and Liberty are considered in Israel as having a supra-positive status, and thus be superior to Constitutional Norms, then shouldn't be a problem that your Courts simply deem the Law unconstitutional for barring against the Principle of Human Dignity, as the Law opens a door to over-prevalence of the Jews in detriment to other minorities < That's the bulk of the Law. My basic point, and I hope you understand it, is that the Law didn't have to explicitly say ones are superior to others. But if you have it, just like now, that considers Jews as a national pillar, it indirectly states they are of some superiority or special status/protection, and thus, can lead to forms of discrimination..

Courts can easily negate bad implemention of the law. you are talking about potential revolution as apartheid is already here. but the truth is to implement any kind of discrimination they need an authority willing to do it (which they do not have) and 75% of the high court to protect it against petitions (which they would never have). I think see your point. your afraid this law can be used as a tool by people with bad intentions. but the truth is it's not where the wind is going. not only the people and the authorities are for integration but it is a national interest. the same Nethanyahu that approved that law is the Nethanyahu that just 3 months ago launch 15 Billion project to specificlly improve education and social distresses at the Arab sector.
