Attack/defense naval transport?

If you have 15 tanks or inf in a naval transport and a bomber hits it do you lose all units inside or do they engage in defense against the bomber?

This is in case that the transport is hit on the sea, ofc.

It doesn't work everytime on Air transport.

If you tb an air transport in the middle of the sea, the same happens that if it were a naval transport

Still i never get that.I always tried to do it but can't tb it or i attack units instead of naval transports.

Most of the times, if you attack a transport while it unloads its units on land, the units are usually unloaded, even if the transport is tbed and killed... this is as far as my experience gets
